Sameer Ahmad

Founder

Sameer Ahmad is an investment banker with 28 years of experience in Europe, the Middle East, Emerging Africa and South East Asia. He started his career in Kidder Peabody, subsequently UBS, in the EM team in London. He then moved to Global Emerging Markets, a boutique investment bank specializing in EM out of London. He then moved to Bangladesh and set up the structured finance unit of Industrial and Infrastructure Development Finance Company Limited (IIDFC). He was a treasury consultant with the PriceWaterhouseCoopers team restructuring Agrani Bank before establishing RSA Capital.

Sameer has established himself as one of the leading investment bankers in Bangladesh by launching the first ever zero coupon bond, the first step down syndicated loan facility, the first ever unsecured international term loan facility for a microfinance institution and the world’s first micro-credit securitization, the first ever variable rate subordinated domestic convertible bond as Tier 2 Capital with international participation in the Bangladesh market.

He is a Director of IPDC Finance Limited as well as the Chairman of the Executive Committee. He also sits on the board of Guardian Life Insurance Company.

Sameer Ahmad currently is the Chairman and the Chief Executive of RSA Capital (DIFC), a DIFC company duly regulated by DFSA to operate similar activities as RSA Capital Bangladesh. Using the DIFC office RSA is expanding its footprint in the MENA and other regions.

K Mahmood Sattar

Chairman, RSA Advisory

Kazi Mahmood Sattar has over 40 years of banking experience, mostly with international banks. He started his career with ANZ Grindlays Bank as a Management Trainee in 1981. In his overseas stint, he spent one year in Mumbai as a Corporate Dealer with Treasury. He also worked more than two years in Melbourne, Australia as Manager Corporate Banking. He underwent extensive training in investment banking and successfully established Bangladesh’s first Investment Banking Arm/Corporate Finance Unit. He took over as Head of Corporate and Investment Banking Division of ANZ Grindlays Bank in Bangladesh in 1995.

He led two large domestic commercial banks as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. While heading two large old-fashioned banks, he successfully modernized them by reorganization, modernization, implementation of state of art IT system and converted the culture and business to compete with the international banks in the country.

Until recently he was an Independent Director and Chairman of the Board Executive Committee of BRAC Bank Limited. Alongside his responsibility as the Chairman of RSA Advisory Limited a boutique Investment Bank, he is currently the Chairman of Blue Wealth Assets Limited and IPDC Finance Limited, one of the leading NBFIs in Bangladesh.




Hiren Singharay

Senior Advisor

Hiren Singharay has a long and outstanding career in executive functions, working for four different Banks in three different countries across Asia and Europe. He pioneered and led ground-breaking new business activities for Banks: starting with State Bank of India venturing into corporate lending to German clients, later on Citibank moving in to unexplored territories of Eastern Europe, Africa and South Asia.

In his role in Citibank’s Capital Markets area, he was involved in Mergers & Acquisitions, developing wider investor base. In 2001, he was headhunted by Standard Chartered Bank to lead corporate finance and syndications businesses mainly in Africa, Middle East and South Asia, which he led for next 14 years.

Both as an executive and later as a Supervisory Board Member, he was adept in coaching people, which led to his love for leadership development. He has been a regular panellist and speaker at various Conferences (IFR, GTR, London Loan Market Association, Afeximbank etc) across the world.

Currently, Hiren is Senior Adviser of RSA Capital (DIFC), a DIFC company duly regulated by DFSA.


 


Casper Lurks

Senior Advisor

He is the senior adviser to RSA, bringing a wealth of experience in business development, strategic planning, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A). Prior to his role at RSA, Casper served as the Head of Business Development at Viterra. In this capacity, he oversaw all global capital expenditure, investments, and M&A activities. Notably, he played a pivotal role in orchestrating the high-profile merger between Viterra and Bunge, a transaction valued at $34 billion.

Casper’s diverse professional background equips him with a unique perspective on driving corporate growth and innovation.


    Md. Farhad Ahamed

    Senior Vice President

    Md. Farhad Ahamed, the Senior Vice President, is a passionate investment professional with 13+ years of experience in investment management and research in Bangladesh. He possesses large spectrum of knowledge in financial markets, asset valuation, financial modeling and macroeconomic analysis. Currently, working in a team who has executed over US$ 1.1 billion of private and public capital raising and all aspects of business valuation and other advisory transactions, including buy side, sell side, and business formation.

    He started his career with RACE Management PCL, the largest private Asset Management Company in Bangladesh with asset size of US$ 250 million, as a Research associate

    Utilizing his expertise, with the oversight and trust of RSA’s founders, RSA concluded some its landmark deals since he joined. They include – The acquisition of Edotco, acquisition of IPDC, acquisition of petromax by SHV; one of the largest M&A deals in Bangladesh; and nearly a billion-dollar worth of subordinated and corporate bonds.

    He is currently spear-heading transactions worth USD ~300 mn across a myriad of sectors
